Non Phthalate

What Are Phthalates?

Phthalates are a group of chemicals used in hundreds of products, such as children’s toys, vinyl flooring products and wall covering, detergents, lubricating oil, food packaging, pharmaceuticals, blood bags and plastic or rubber tubing, and personal care products, such as nail polish, hair sprays, aftershave lotion, soap, shampoos, perfumes and other fragrance products.

Phthalate Free PVC

Phthalate Plasticizers are a key ingredient that makes soft flexible polyvinylchloride (PVC) able to bend without breaking or cracking so that it can be used in medical tubing and bags, squeezable toys, wire and cable coverings, flooring products, wall coverings, and a myriad of other useful every-day items.

Plasticizers can be made from several different chemistries. Phthalate plasticizers (of which there are many different types) are the most commonly used. In the last decade, a number of regulations have been enacted in the European Union (EU) and the USA that limit the use of some ortho-phthalate plasticizers, due to concerns about the effects on human health.
